This week the Edge account system went live. You can now use it to spin up Edge Servers and pay for them using XE. You can also purchase XE using credit and debit cards. 🎉
Spinning up an Edge Server takes less than a minute, giving you near-instant access to computing resources for performing just about any task you can imagine. And remember, accounts with Edge are anonymous and secure.
We’ve had 46 accounts created so far. From those we’ve seen 64 servers created and 53 deleted leaving 11 servers active. We’ve processed 97 invoices, had 13 purchases, 9 of which were manual, and 4 which were auto top ups. From the 11 servers running, there are 27 vCPUs, 356 GiB of disk space, and 46 GiB of memory in use.
In addition to this, we’ve received some really great feedback from the community, some of which we’ve been able to address this week with a series of updates, so thank you to everyone who tried out the new system and fed back to us, both in the public channels and directly. Your feedback really does help us improve the systems, interfaces, and project as a whole.
The team have continued to work on DNS & CDN integration. CDN usage reporting is now complete for Stargate & Gateways, and we’re now working to integrate the Stargate DNS layer into the account system. We think this will be ready in about 2 weeks and can’t wait to share it with you.
Most legacy stakes have now been migrated to XE stakes. This has had an incredibly positive impact on the team, as we now spend less time on administrative operations and more time on developing and promoting the project. Towards this end, we’re going to be closing the window for legacy stake migrations at the end of this month. If you haven’t yet migrated your legacy stakes over to the XE, now is the time.
