As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and development in the open, our founder writes weekly updates to the Edge community. This is the 50th of these updates, originally posted to Telegram.

Hi Everyone đź‘‹

Chris and I returned from a series of meetings overseas. Lots of moving parts and positive momentum, which I hope to be able to tell you about in due course.

The network team introduced cache invalidation to CDN, making it possible for the application owner to invalidate every instance of a single file or response body.

CDN Entropy was improved to use a different method of locating the focal point of an image, yielding more reliable results.

TLS Certificates are no longer in Consul and are instead distributed by Stargates directly to Gateways on a new gRPC Config Subscription Protocol. This allows us to share valid certificates quickly and on demand.

We’re moving more and more of the stack out of Consul, improving performance and stability as we go.

The disk cache is now exporting usage data to Telemetry so the team have a better understanding of usage and warnings at Gateway level.

The user interface of Console has continued to develop, with various UX changes and the addition of a new Stake page, which lists all Stakes and their properties.

You can find this here: https://console.edge.network/en/stakes

CDN distributions can also now be edited.

We’ve added a changelog to Console too, giving you a quick rundown of the changes in the interface.

Edge CLI 4.01 was released today, packed with various stake attribution and configuration options which mean that you no longer need to request manual validation for staking.

Adam wrote an article on this, which you can read here: https://edge.network/en/updates/announcements/managing-stakes-with-edge-cli/

And that’s it for this week! Sorry this is later than usual. I’ve just arrived after another day of travelling.

Enjoy your weekends.
